Weekly #065 | 3 Teenage Success Stories & Lessons Learned
Tool of the Week: Sunsama
This week, I’m sharing one of my favorite task managers: Sunsama. Dealing with multiple clients or teams ain’t easy. And there’s always a tendency for businesses to consolidate or get more tools. Sunsama gives you the best of both worlds: it helps you keep track of all your tasks, without needing to force others to conform to your tool of choice. I use this tool daily and it’s my hidden superpower for Getting Sh*t Done (GSD’ing). Highly recommended!
In recent years, the rise of teenage micropreneurs has become a prominent trend in the business world. Teenagers are increasingly becoming micropreneurs, with some starting their own businesses as young as 13 years old. These young entrepreneurs are starting their own small-scale businesses and achieving remarkable success. They are harnessing their creativity, passion, and technological skills to create innovative offerings, unique services, and build thriving businesses.
This article explores the rising trend of teenage micropreneurs, highlighting three inspiring success stories and exploring the challenges they face along the way. Additionally, we will delve into the key lessons learned from these young hustlers in their pursuit of “better.”
The Rising Trend of Teenage Micropreneurs
In today's digital age, teens have access to a wealth of resources and opportunities that were not available in the past. The proliferation of social media platforms, e-commerce websites, and online marketplaces has opened doors for young entrepreneurs to turn their hobbies and passions into profitable ventures. In 2020, 62% of Gen Zers said they wanted to start a business.
Teenagers are now able to create and market their products or services from the comfort of their own homes, reaching a global audience with just a few clicks. This trend is not only empowering but also reshaping the traditional notion of entrepreneurship.
Let’s take a look at the stories of teenage micropreneurs such as Daniel Bitton, Srijan, and Faye Ng.
Success Stories of Teenage Micropreneurs
Daniel Bitton (United States)
Daniel (@danvsI) is a 16-year-old from the United States, making roughly $500,000 a month. Him and his friend are some of the few creators who got in early with Snapchat Shows, which essentially allows creators to create micro-sized vertical shorts for exclusive audiences on Snapchat. Getting in early meant he was able to capitalize on the exclusivity, and get a monopoly on the attention. Mind you, a lot of his work is "faceless."
Faceless accounts are another rising trend amongst teens, which essentially means accounts that don’t show their real names or faces, so they don't ever have to worry about unwanted attention or notoriety. This is becoming increasingly popular due to the proliferation of AI tools and privacy concerns.
