Hey {{First Name|there}}!
So two days ago, I was invited to speak on a pre-recorded panel about indigenous tech and data sovereignty around the South Pacific.
In a panel talk with some indigenous + tech experts across the South Pacific.
Discussing "data sovereignty."
Representing New Zealand (Māori), New Caledonia, Tonga, Samoa, and Tuvalu.
Look forward to connecting with more!

It gave me all the feels because it reminded me of how important this topic is - bringing power and strength back to South Pacific peoples.
As I heard from the other panelists - who were experts in AI, digital twins, metaverse, etc. - it made me feel so proud of the region's future.
But as a result of this 2-hour talk, I ended up revisiting some old goals and ideas. Going back as far as 2012, when I was building "cultural animation" projects.
With the introduction of NFTs, we've seen a surge in creativity + tech. Islanders have a lot of creativity (they love their music, dancing, and now even TikTok 😂).
And with the increase in Internet connectivity, they have opportunities to earn more online and not feel so isolated economically due to geographic location.
