So I was recently researching Polynesian warrior classes. Why? Because I was trying to find correlations between them and the warrior classes from Aztec times (e.g. Jaguar and Eagle Warriors).

What I found interesting was how the Lua warriors from Hawaii established themselves as "spiritual warriors" and "protectors of culture." Similar to the Aztecs and other pre-colonial civilizations.
